But this wasn’t my first or even my second time photographing this young lady  I had the honor of photographing her for her senior photos, in her sister’s wedding, her engagement session and then her and Aaron’s wonderful wedding!  And let me say what a wonderful, elegant and endearing lady she is  One thing I loved about photographing the two of them is that when they are together they are at ease~it is as if there is no one else is on the planet but the two of them.

They had there ceremony & reception at The Berg, which is a super cool venue to photograph!!!!  And they were married the same weekend in May that it actually snowed!!!  But luckily no snow during our photo time

This is a moment that always gets to me and this was no exception.  When Tracy saw Aaron she picked up her step a bit to hurry to him  I was not sure whether to laugh or cry it was so awesome!

And for my photo obsession of cake balls-here it is!  Let me tell you it is really hard to look at lots of photos of cake balls and not have any on hand.  While editing, all I could think about is cake balls!!!!!!!

After the ceremony Tracy & Aaron changed from white to black!  Fun reception change!!!!

Matt & Amie are so fun and easy going.  It was such a joy to be around them and witness their promise to love each other forever.   I imagine them having like a million friends in high school  I knew it was going to be a fun reception when I saw that they were giving everyone personalized shot glasses.  And fun it was!  Especially at the end when we went outside for some sparkler fun!!!!

I will let the photos tell the story of the day!  One thing I love about 28 Event Space is their awesome rooms for getting ready and the bride and groom have a room to stay in that night!!!

We did have a little excitement with Amie’s zipper to her wedding dress, but rest assured it all worked out   Zippers have a way of sticking at the most inopportune moments, lol.

Elizabeth and Patrick had the most fabulous wedding day in the vineyards of Sonama Valley last October, check out their wedding blog post here!  It was an incredible day followed by an incredibly beautiful and early morning in Muir Woods!

Happy February everyone, especially all of the newlyweds!!!!!

It was so enjoyable to be a part of such a wonderful celebration.  Kelly and Adam both are the kind of people who you can instantly feel good about, the kind of people you know have  lifelong friends and you want to be one of them.  They are smart, ambitious, warm hearted and endearing.  Kelly has a smile that will draw you in in seconds and while Adam may look like a sophisticated James Bond in his tuxedo, he is perfectly playful and hilarious.

I want to to give thanks to my second photographer, Mike Tsai, for helping me capture all of the wonderful moments, and my assistant Amber for of course making my job easier  And it was super fun working with one of my former brides, Erin Webb, as the coordinator for Simple Elegance!

I flew to Atlanta to photograph Kelly & Adams engagement session and we had such a fun time, so I want to start by sharing just a couple of my faves!

I have to admit I was really hoping we would get a bit or mare than a bit of snow that was forecasted. I was dying to photograph them in a good snow storm  But only a few flakes sparingly tossed around in the night.  But when I got home I saw that it stayed east and I had about 2 inches at my house!  So here is my snow photo

After we finished up taking photos at the Nelson Atkins Museum right around the corner from the Kemper, it was ceremony time!!! This is a moment when I am so glad they had a second photographer booked.  While I was waiting for Lauren to walk down the aisle, Mike was in the back room with them and was able to capture this moment with Lauren and her mom

One of the very special things about their ceremony was that Jordan’s dad performed the ceremony!!!

Oh my how I loved the cake!  It was so pretty and the texture was so cool!!!

There was some fun dancing to be had!!  And I should let everyone know that if I accidentaly take a photo that looks embarassing and hilarious, I am probably going to post it, haha!!!  Also, I loved the coasters Lauren made so much, my daughter and I are going to try to make some!!!

December flew by between work, family, fevers and holidays!  So I am actually backward blogging Jamie & Chris’s wedding.  I already finished editing the whole wedding and posted their wedding website before Christmas.  But I didn’t have time to get the blog post up to share with everyone how beautiful and wonderful their wedding was!

I was so happy to be Jamie’s wedding photographer after having taken her senior pictures years ago!  Jamie is the kind of girl that wears her heart on her sleeve, she is just so endearing.  And after meeting Chris, I could tell that his heart was equally as big.  And together they are kind, playful, and remind you of things that are good in the world.

I don’t think I ever blogged their engagement session and it was EPIC!  Not at all what we planned, it rained the whole time.  But one word I think about when I think about their engagement session is STEAMY!  Doesn’t this look straight out of a movie!  Dang!  I think everyone should have a movie star kiss moment like this in their lives!

I absolutely always love the moment when a groom sees his bride for the first time on their wedding day.  So much excitement, nervousness and happiness.

If I haven’t mentioned my love of parking garage photos (which I am sure I have), dang I love parking garage photos.  In particular…THIS parking garage with Jamie & Chris in it

Jamie & Chris were married at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  What a truly remarkably beautiful stone church.  I think it was the darkest church I ever shot in, definitely was cranking up the iso!  But it was for sure one of the most beautiful

There is always one thing at a wedding that doesn’t go quite as planned, well a little glitch in the trolly that was to take the wedding party to the the reception.  They got it all worked out but meanwhile I got Jamie and Chris to pose for a few city street shots  Yeah!!!!

Their reception was at the Marriott at Briarcliff and what an amazing view!!!!!

I don’t know what it is about ice sculptures, but they are so magical!  I LOVE them!!!!!

Having the privilege of working with Jamie and Evan was just the icing on the cake.  I really just love them.  I watched them laugh and I laughed.  I watched them through the emotions of the day and I smiled.  I watched them just being themselves and I loved it.  Both Jamie and Evan are so full of life.  They are both so kind, of course adorable and just so dang fun!!!  And Jamie’s got just enough sass to make her my kind of girl

I will tell the story throughout this post with the photos  But I do have to say that out of all of the great scenic areas and overall fantasticalness that I photographed that weekend, I think my very favorite photo of the weekend is one that happened during the ceremony.  It was a real moment and you can feel something when you look at it.  I am glad I was there to witness such a moment and even happier to give Liz and Patrick this moment frozen in time  Thank you for trusting me to photograph your happily ever after

A little night shot from the cable car ride that Heather and I took in San Fransisco!  Super fun!!!

On our way to Napa, we stopped in Sausalito for lunch and this was our view.  I highly recommend this little french restaurant we happened upon, Le Garage Bistro!

Then we headed for Napa to the Silverado Resort where everyone was staying!  Liz invited us to the welcome party friday night so of course I brought my camera

This is the sky from the night before their wedding.  What a beautiful night sky to enjoy a glass of wine under!

Then we started bright and early the next morning with hair and make up and mimosas!!!!

This is a fun example of why it is awesome to have two photographers, while I was shooting this first shot, Heather was shooting the second!  Both I love!!!  So stunning Liz!!!

There were quite a few moments at Jacuzzi before the ceremony that Liz’s mom and all her girls had some happy tears shedding.  I love this moment when Liz is giving her mom the “don’t make me cry” sign, haha!

I think this is my ultimate favorite.  Nothing looks better on a man than the look of love for his girl in his eyes.  Sappy, I know, but true

They were married at the Elms in Excelcier Springs, a perfect place for their out of town guests to stay and enjoy the weeekend.  Well, mother nature threw us a bit of a curve ball (she must have know that Ally could handle it) and rained almost the entire day.  We did see a few minutes reprieve here and there which we quickly took advantage of for photos!  I think it is impossible for me to blog all of the details to this wedding!

Ally & Luis are such wonderful people to be around.  They are kind and have humongous hearts.  I have had such a great time hanging with them before  and during the wedding.  Allyson is sweet and super fun!  She even gave me a super cool suitcase when we met to plan her day!  I have used it for a few shoots already!  Thank you !  Thank you!!!  And Luis, well Luis is a cool cat.  He has so many different interests from dentistry to music and photography!

This is the first time Luis saw Ally on their wedding day.  Seriously I can’t look at this without tearing up myself!!

I have to say that their ceremony was such an endearing warm ceremony.  I loved that it was a small church packed to the brim with warm romantic lighting and beautiful songs sung!

right after the ceremony we had about a 2 minute window of no rain.  So we shot as many wedding party pics as we could in that time!  Nothing like being rushed, lol!

I believe these cookies and treats are from Ecuador honoring Luis’s heritage.  And heart map stir sticks?!?!!?!  LOVE!!

This was also my first time photographing a wedding at 28 event space and I have to say it is one of my new favorite spaces!!!!  I am a sucker for dreamy twinkle lights and there were plenty of them!!  And a pool table and an awesome place to get ready and even stay before or after the wedding!  How awesome would it be to have a little suite to stay in after your wedding night or have a slumber party with all your girls the night before!!!!!!
